Hermès - Menswear Autumn/Winter 2014/2015 Show in Paris (avec itw)

The first walk, with the right coat, in a brown wool skin, cocooning an evening jacket and patent shoes launched the warm trends of this collection. Coats provided really comfortable protection with detachable martingales. The materials were chosen with precision, like the use of the old fabric, ratine, as for jumpers, they were knitted by hand. The spirit of jockeys, as dubbed by Véronique Nichanian, in the somber subtle colours, was discreet. The masterpiece, a crocodile bomber jacket, ultra light and supple was remarked upon and envied by all in its exceptional reveal, truly representing the image of the fashion house.Interview :Véronique Nichanian : I worked with a lot of new volume, volume with more generous shoulders, volume that is more comfortable and envelopes you. This already defines a more comfortable silhouette. That’s why I started the show with a coat, and then moved directly to evening wear. I started the show with what is normally at the end and I have worked on jackets in wool and ribbed silk which gave a pretty contrast between the all enveloping fur and the slim and structured jackets, which were also brilliant. We were inspired by the idea of a jockey, the jackets worn by jockeys, except we have given them more extravagance, with clashing bands which bang together and don’t join up; all of this in dark colours which is very subtle. The whole collection moves towards this idea.We have a fashion house which has been incredibly luxurious for a long time; I have on offer the best, most extraordinary and exceptional materials. I just imagine a little bomber jacket in matt crocodile, double lined in silk, it’s madness.Music from the show
