The Woolmark Prize chooses its five finalists

The International Woolmark Prize has now announced all five finalists. Coming from Australia is Christoper Esber who is joined by Shenzhen-based ffiXXed representing Asia and Rahul Mishra for India and the Middle East. The remaining two finalists – which were unveiled recently – are Joseph Altuzarra for the United States and Sibling for Europe. All five labels will now compete for the final prize of 100,000 Australian dollars.

The finalists now have the task of creating a capsule collection using mainly Merino wool, of which Woolmark is a clear specialist. The final collections will be presented in Milan in February before the panel chooses a winner. Last year’s winner was Belgian designer Christian Wijnants.
