Tendam has named Jaume Miquel executive chairman of the group. The appointment will be combined with Miquel’s responsibilities as CEO, a position he has held since 2016.

Jaume Miquel, CEO and now also executive chairman of Tendam - Tendam

The board of directors of Tendam Brands was the governing body responsible for the appointment, which comes just a few weeks after Miguel Ibarrola, until then the non-executive chairman of the company, announced his departure from the company.

Miquel has been the CEO of Tendam since August 2016, when he replaced Berta Escudero as head of the company. The exec has had an extensive career in the company, formerly known as the Cortefiel Group, holding the role of managing director of Pedro del Hierro, Cortefiel and Women'Secret. Previously, Miquel, who holds a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona, served at other fashion companies including Levi Strauss, Dockers and Timberland.

The Tendam group owns brands Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Women's Secret, Springfield and Fifty. It recorded a profit of more than €43 million in the first nine months of the 2018 financial year, with sales of €801.7 million.
