This is part of a new plan to develop a network of standalone stores across Germany, where it already operates 16 concessions in premium department stores such as Karstadt, Breuninger and Galeries Lafayette.

The British clothing and lifestyle brand has appointed property firm Cushman & Wakefield to source new store locations in Germany, it emerged on Friday. Cushman & Wakefield is working with German leasing partner Comfort on this task.

Founded in the UK in 1988, Ted Baker has over 500 stores and concessions worldwide, including 195 in the UK and 113 in mainland Europe. In addition to Germany, the global lifestyle brand is also eyeing further growth in Spain, France and Portugal.

Mark Barrett, head of EMEA cross border retail at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Ted Baker is a truly iconic British lifestyle brand with great heritage and enormous potential within Germany. British fashion is an international success story and Ted Baker’s unique style makes it an attractive partner for European landlords. We will be working with landlords in prime retail locations in Germany’s main cities, where Ted Baker will sit alongside other leading international brands."
