Munich Fabric Start continues to grow. For the 45th edition, which takes place September 4 to 6, the Munich-based textiles tradeshow will host a record-number of suppliers inside the MOC and Zenith exhibition building. Here, some 1,050 brands are expected to showcase the latest in textiles, accessories, denim and sportswear.

Under the theme "Brave New World," the upcoming event will display close to 1,800 autumn/winter 2019/20 collections. According to organisers, the growth is linked to the expansion of its "Bluezone", inside the Zenith building: a world that will be comprised of the "most offerings to date", with more than 120 international brands across the denim and sportswear sectors to be presented here, highlighting their seasonal innovations.

In line with the strong demand, the outside space around the Bluezone will be used as additional exhibition space. The increase in stands means the area will debut as the "Bluezone Festival", dedicated "to insiders and lovers of denim, with unique brands and products."

The showcase accents new techniques, but also the heritage of the denim sector with vintage pieces, as well as an exchange on advanced solutions and methods, heightened by the curated selection of the brands and firms assembled inside Atrium 3, above Hall 3.

The first two days of the tradeshow will see businesses from central and eastern Europe display new developments and trends. The culminating part of the side-show schedule looks to be the trend conference lead by Li Edelkoort on September 5. The celebrated forecaster will present fashion trends for autumn/winter 2019/20, as well as predictions on colour and sportswear for spring/summer 2020.

Round tables, workshops and conferences, on themes such as denim and innovations, will also be on the agenda at the Denim Club, inside Hall 7. For the first time, the VDMD (the German association for fashion and textiles designers) will take over two rooms with a design forum and trend conferences scheduled.

With ReSource, Munich Fabric Start is launching a new enlarged supply zone, replacing Organic Selection. The goal is to respond to the changes in the textiles sector and to present new sustainable development applications in relation to processes in production with a scope for the future; all to promote transparency in supply chains.

At the centre of competence and innovation, the Keyhouse space will continue to highlight the new generation of future textiles, advanced technologies and biodynamic challenges and macro trends, as seen in the innovation showroom Next Tex, gathering suppliers who work in particular according to the criteria of the circular economy.

"As tradeshow organisers, the creation of a functional platform with high quality offerings is at the heart of our mission. Moreover, we are playing the role of initiator and instigator, which sees us deeply involved. We are called to put in place processes and make the know-how of experts accessible and offer relevant tools and solutions for the future," said managing director of Munich Fabric Start, Sebastian Klinder.
