Moda Operandi has poached another Tesla executive, announcing Puja Clarke as new senior VP of fashion buying and e-commerce. It follows the arrival of ex-Tesla VP Ganesh Srivats as CEO in June.

The luxury shopping platform said Clarke will be responsible for optimising both the customer and brand experiences, and overseeing its buying and e-commerce teams across women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, jewellery, menswear, and home.

Clarke was most recently GM of global merchandise and e-commerce at American car and energy company Tesla, but her career has also had a fair number of senior roles at luxury fashion companies. Prior to Tesla, she was VP of global retail merchandising at Marc Jacobs, and worked as director of global merchandising at Burberry. She also held merchandising roles at Prada in the US and Asia.

“Puja has an innate aptitude for understanding the needs of fashion customers and designers, which make her uniquely positioned to excel in this integrated role at Moda Operandi,” commented CEO Ganesh Srivats.

“Having worked with some of the most influential luxury brands and designers in the world, Puja will be valuable in shaping the Moda Operandi platform as we seek to provide the best possible representation to the brands we work with. Her focused, end-to-end vision leading Moda Operandi’s buying and e-commerce teams will ensure a best-in-class experience for Moda’s clients and designers - whether they’re established or just emerging on the scene.”

Moda Operandi, which sells designer items from brands including Isabel Marant, Marni, Proenza Schouler and Giambattista Valli, has been focused on building its top team and recently announced two new fashion directors. Lisa Aiken, women’s fashion director, and Josh Peskowitz, men’s fashion director, will work closely with Puka Clarke to enhance the site’s designer mix and product assortment.
