Spanish fashion startup Jeanologia, which develops laser and other sustainable technologies for the textile sector, has named Carlos Arias as new CEO. He will replace Enrique Silla, who founded the company in 1993.

Arias took up the new role on 7 October, according to digital media outlet Sportswear International. The executive has extensive experience in the clothing manufacturing sector, having held positions at companies including Koramsa in Guatemala, Denimatrix in the United States and Kaltex Apparel in Mexico.

He has a good understanding of Jeanologia’s business, after collaborating with the company for over 15 years, he told the online news site. As the new chief executive, his challenges will be to take the company global and double turnover (currently reaching 110 million euros) over the next two to three years.

Jeanologia, based in Valencia, has clients in 66 countries and operates 11 offices in Pakistan, China, India, Mexico, Brazil, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Turkey, United States, Italy and Japan.

It received an investment from US private equity firm Carlyle in March to enhance its R&D capabilities and accelerate international growth.
