Italian luxury women's brand Giada to open first U.S. store

Italian luxury womenswear brand Giada, operated by Chinese management company Redstone Haute Couture, is making its U.S. retail debut with the opening of its North American flagship in Boston, Massachusetts.

Situated in Boston's Back Bay within The Heritage On The Garden -- a mixed-use retail, residential and office complex -- the 4,300-square-foot boutique was designed by Italian architect and designer Claudio Silvestrin, in bid to capture the brand's "minimalist, modern" aesthetic, according to a press release.

"We selected Boston as the first U.S. home for the brand for many reasons," said Zhao Yizheng, CEO of Redstone, which acquired Giada in 2005.

"The urban, sophisticated women of Boston vibe perfectly with the DNA of the brand and there is an enormous excitement, growth, energy and international appeal to the city in general."

Founded in 2001 by Rosanna Daolio, the brand has been overseen by Creative Director Gabriele Colangelo since 2015 and makes regular appearances at Milan Fashion Week. 

The Milanese brand sells exclusively through its own retail network, including over 50 stores throughout Italy and China, as well as its global flagship on Via Montenapoleone in Milan. Currently, Giada has no e-commerce platform. 

Following the Boston location's opening, a second U.S. store is set to arrive in New York in 2021, taking Giada's total store count to 60.
