Hello Kitty is celebrating her 45th birthday in a suitably glamorous fashion -- with the launch of a new nail polish collection.

The Japanese pop culture icon has teamed up with the beauty brand OPI for the second time on a new nail color series designed with the upcoming holiday season in mind.

The duo first collaborated back in 2016, on a collection that included an instant sell-out shade called ‘Let's Be Friends!' The powdery pink hue is set to make its return in the new 2019 OPI Hello Kitty Collection, alongside 11 other festive shades and three glitters inspired by the Japanese "omotenashi" tradition of gift giving.

"We were blown away by the response from the first Hello Kitty Collection, and the demand hasn't stopped three years later," said OPI Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann in a statement. "With the Hello Kitty by OPI Collection we bring together two global icons that embrace having fun, being chic and loving color!"

"Let's Be Friends! is the most searched for OPI color in the brand's history," added OPI Global Director of Color Collections Jill Bartoshevich. "We had to bring back this perfect powdery pink."

The collection, which launches this month, spans a range of deep velvet hues, frosty pastels, classic reds and shimmering metallics. All 15 colors will come in classic Nail Lacquer, long-wear Infinite Shine and GelColor formulas.

Sanrio-owned Hello Kitty is well-versed in beauty collaborations, having teamed up with The Creme Shop last year on an eight-piece skincare line covering everything from sheet masks and lip balms to hand cream and bath bombs. The past few years have also seen the character join forces with with the surf and lifestyle brand O'Neill on a children's fashion collection, in addition to launching fashion collections with the sportswear giant Puma and the fashion retailer Asos.
