Glossier, the New York-based e-commerce cosmetics brand created by Into the Gloss blog founder Emily Weiss, will open a pop-up shop in Chicago's West Loop at 114 N. Aberdeen St. starting August 23 after announcing in June its plan to visit the city. It will remain open through the end of October.

The pop-up shop will offer the full suite of Glossier products intended to be a middle ground between skincare and makeup, including its top selling eyebrow definer, cleanser, and cheek tint.

The shop is located inside a former firehouse, and has been re-designed by the Glossier design team to mirror the Chicago's unique qualities. "Drawing inspiration from the city’s iconic architectural history and vibrant art scene, the interior is adorned with huge works of art, mirrored detailing, bold flower arrangements and the photo journals of Chicago-based photographer Deun Ivory," a Glossier representative said.

The brand, which began as a start-up and shot to viral success thanks to its popularity on social media, has a permanent showroom in New York and store in Los Angeles. Glossier has previously held pop-ups in London, San Francisco, and Toronto.

Despite its brick-and-mortar locations, the majority of the brand's traffic arrives online, where the brand promises to build products based on customer demand.

Since its launch in 2014, the brand now boasts 1.4 million followers on Instagram
