Yiqing Yin focused on new beginnings on Tuesday, as the designer showed off her debut eponymous collection as part of the Spring 2016 Haute Couture calendar.

Titled 'Blooming Ashes', the show was an organic take on transformation and metamorphosis, opening with a series of semi-sheer dresses, jumpsuits and

Meanwhile Stephane Rolland's collection was a dramatic reflection on couture, featuring ruffled tulle hemlines on poetic monochrome dresses and balletic chiffons folded and tucked to create lyrical silhouettes. A simple white trouser, for example, was paired with a sheer top and a shimmering gauzy train, while a semi-sheer pleated dress was dusted with feathers to add texture. There were huge corsages and fluttering hemlines, but the real showstopper was the postbox red layered skirt that fanned out to take on sculpture-like proportions.

Parisian house Julien Fournié opted for a tropical vibe, blending exotic greens and purples with softer coral hues for an eye-catching look. A draped blazer and floral-print pant combination was a nod to the 1980s, while a three-piece cream suit splashed with a sumptuous botanical motif was anything but stuffy.
