Dr Martens appoints Harrison non-exec

Andrew Harrison looks to be the right man for the Dr Martens board vacancy for an Independent Non-Executive Director.

“Following a comprehensive search and selection process”, Harrison takes up the position from 1 May. He will also become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

He’s currently managing partner at consumer brand investment firm Freston Ventures and Senior Independent Director at Ocado Group where he’s also chair of its Remuneration Committee and designated Non-Executive Director for engagement with the workforce.

He built his executive career over more than two decades at Carphone Warehouse, where he served as Chief Executive and Chair. As a member of the early founding team, he drove the growth and international expansion there.

Chairman Paul Mason said Harrison “brings a wealth of expertise of consumer facing and technology focused businesses and a highly entrepreneurial mindset. His significant prior experience… will bolster the Board and will be invaluable to the business as we embark on the next chapter of the Dr Martens story.”

It’s also interesting that his background has been heavily weighted toward digital and technology in general.
