Dover Street Market has plans to open its second US retail location in Los Angeles.

The multi-brand retailer by Rei Kawakubo and Joffe opened its first US retail location in New York City in 2013. In regards to opening a second US store in Los Angeles, Joffe said, “It just felt like the right time and the right place.”

Dover Street Market is not the first to feel that this is the right time to open a store in Los Angeles. Louis Vuitton and Supreme is currently operating one of their global pop up shops in Los Angeles, Céline held a pop up with Maxfield in the city this year, and 3.1 Phillip Lim opened its 16th retail location in Los Angeles' Arts District. In addition, Dior held its Cruise collection show in Los Angeles months after Tommy Hilfiger held its second see-now-buy-now show at Venice Beach.

No further details are known about the DSM Los Angeles store except that it is currently under construction, Kawakubo is designing the interior, and the store layout will be spread on one level.

Dover Street Market opened its first store on Dover Street in London and later opened stores in Tokyo and New York City, and will open in Singapore in July.
