It’s not that long ago that Temperley London appointed a new CEO, but the luxury UK fashion firm named another exec to the top job late on Wednesday with Luca Donnini joining the firm.

Temperley London

He has a strong background in European luxury and branded fashion having spent 20 years with Max Mara, developing the brand’s global expansion and becoming its President of Worldwide Business. More recently he was President of Guess Europe, “where he grew the business over a five-year period to reach $1 billion in revenues.”

And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s also the founder and Chairman of advisory boutique firm Officina Lifestyle.

The company didn’t give out any information about Sally Hughes, the executive who joined it as CEO last September, although her LinkedIn entry lists her as having been Chief Business Officer at contemporary womenswear brand Rixo since last month. She had joined Temperley after Patricia Sancho left following five years at the helm.

The company has been through a bruising period in recent years and earlier this year reported widening losses in its latest set of results.

But it seemed upbeat as it unveiled its new CEO and Alice Temperley said: “We are very pleased to have Luca Donnini on board. He brings a very strong background within the industry and has a proven track record in developing luxury brands. I am certain that with his experience and talent he will be able to drive the business to the next level.”

The company currently operates four standalone stores, including its flagship on Bruton Street in Mayfair, and stores in Dubai and Qatar. It’s also distributed in over 30 countries and via more than 150 wholesale accounts. Temperley Bridal is distributed in over 11 countries and 40 wholesale accounts.
