Denim Première Vision show morphs into Digital Denim Week

The restrictions imposed in the whole of Europe to fight the Covid-19 pandemic have forced trade shows, fairs and related events to make adjustments. Denim Première Vision too has had to change plans for its forthcoming autumn session. The show was originally scheduled at the Arena Berlin on November 24-25, and has instead been transformed into Denim Digital Week, an online event taking place from November 30 to December 4.

Denim Première Vision will return to the Arena Berlin next year, for its autumn 2021 session - Arena Berlin

Denim PV’s organisers have an effective tool at their disposal for dealing with the restrictions, and enabling exhibitors and their clients to connect. Since the last edition of Première Vision Paris, the show has in fact been able to tap its digital marketplace, first introduced in 2018. A tool that many professionals are already familiar with, and which is turning out to be an asset in the present circumstances, when in-person meetings with foreign commercial partners are hard to organise.

The Première Vision website is the key business solution for Denim Digital Week. The organisers stated that exhibitors “have enjoyed, since the health emergency started, the option of freely updating their collections [on the site], with no limits to the number of products, nor the obligation to subscribe for any length of time.” To deal with the situation, the site's functionalities have been improved, facilitating contacts and commercial relations, and allowing exhibitors to feature more extensive content and presentations.

Denim Digital Week is designed to enable exhibitors, whether fabric manufacturers, garment manufacturers, launderers, finishers, accessories producers or technology firms, to unveil their Spring/Summer 2022 collections.

Besides this, as usual, the organisers are keen to be a source of inspiration to the denim and fashion community. Two trend workshops are scheduled on December 1 and 2, one led by Première Vision staff and the other by Lucia Rosin of creative studio Meidea. There will be a round-table debate on the future of the denim sector, and two creativity workshops led by Alessio Berto. Finally, the inescapable issue of sustainable development will be the subject of two ‘Smart Talks’ conferences. A very busy programme, formulated to enable industry operators and labels to prepare their next collections, with the hope of meeting again in person at the Denim Première Vision edition planned on May 25-26 2021 at Milan’s Superstudio Più.
