Mission accomplished for Denim Première Vision. The denim trade show’s first London edition on Dec. 5 and 6 was well received by the industry, totting up 2,344 visitors, 17% more than the November 2017 session held in Paris.

Of these visitors, 46% came from the UK and 54% from overseas.

“Attendance struck a satisfactory overall balance between the UK market, which we were keen to reach out to, and Europe. Exhibitors appreciated the mood at the show, also and especially because they did good business during it, which is what interests me the most,” said Guglielmo Olearo, in charge of international shows at Première Vision.

Denim PV’s organisers were happy about the range of labels whose buyers attended the event, from Dior to Givenchy, from Paul Smith and Giorgio Armani to Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, Asos and Celio.

“The announcement about the next show being held in Milan was also well received,” said Olearo. The Milan show’s dates have now been finalised: Denim PV’s next session will be held on May 28-29, and will not overlap with the Kingpins New York show nor with Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim feast for the end of Ramadan.

“As for Kingpins, I don’t think we have the same market positioning. However, we sounded out our exhibitors and we brought the show’s dates forward by a week, to cater for those exhibitors who were concerned about the clash with the religious feast’s dates,” added Olearo.

Denim PV will stick to the new itinerant format in future, with the cities of Berlin and Stockholm mentioned as potential venues.
