Delphine Arnault joins LVMH group's executive committee

The executive committee of French luxury group LVMH has a new member, Delphine Arnault, daughter of the group’s CEO Bernard Arnault. FashionNetwork.com was told that LVMH circulated news of the appointment internally on January 15. Delphine Arnault joins an executive committee which consists of eleven other members, ten of them men, the youngest of whom is 52.

Delphine Arnault - LVMH

They are Antonio Belloni, group managing director of LVMH; Nicolas Bazire, in charge of the group's development and acquisitions; Pietro Beccari, CEO of Christian Dior Couture; Michael Burke, CEO of Louis Vuitton; Chantal Gaemperle, director for human resources and Synergies of the LVMH group; Jean-Jacques Guiony, CFO and CEO of La Samaritaine; Chris de Lapuente, CEO of Sephora and in charge of all of the group’s fragrance and cosmetics labels except for Parfums Christian Dior; Philippe Schaus, CEO of Moët Hennessy; Sidney Toledano, CEO of LVMH Fashion Group; Jean-Baptiste Voisin, chief strategy officer of the LVMH group and president of LVMH Métiers d’art; and Bernard Arnault himself.

“I’m delighted that Delphine has joined the group’s executive committee, which will therefore become not only more feminized, but also younger. Her universally recognised ‘product’ awareness, now making a valuable contribution to the exceptional success of Louis Vuitton, and her close connection with designers and stylists, especially with the younger generations, are all assets which will benefit the group,” said Bernard Arnault.

Delphine Arnault was born in 1975 and was educated at the London School of Economics and the EDHEC business school. After a stint at prestigious consultancy firm McKinsey, she worked on the development of the John Galliano label, before joining the executive committee of Christian Dior Couture. In 2013, she stepped down from the role of deputy general manager at Dior Couture to become executive vice-president of Louis Vuitton, where she oversees all product-related activities. In 2013, Delphine Arnault created the LVMH Prize, now one of the most important springboards for emerging fashion designers worldwide.

Last October, the LVMH group reported a 10% sales rise in the third quarter 2018, generating a revenue of €11.38 billion. Through LVMH Luxury Ventures, an investment fund focusing on emerging labels, the group recently acquired a minority stake in Gabriela Hearst. Last December, LVMH also struck a $3.2 billion deal for the acquisition of luxury hotel group Belmond.
