Following Coty's announcement that Camillo Pane is stepping down from his position as CEO to be replaced by Pierre Laubies, the American cosmetics group is boosting its team with a new hire that aims to develop its online strategy. The company has appointed Antoine Borde to the newly created role of senior vice president for e-commerce and digital transformation at Coty Luxury, its high-end division, which manages perfume licences for labels including Burberry, Gucci and Marc Jacobs, as well as the self-care brands Lancaster and Philosophy.

Antoine Borde will report directly to Coty Luxury president, Edgar Huber - Coty

Borde stepped into his new role, based at the company's Paris office, on 14 November. He joins Coty from L'Oréal, where he spent 12 years, first working in marketing for L'Oréal Paris's skincare division, before moving on to lead the brand's operations in the Netherlands.

For the last three years, he has been in charge of driving the French beauty giant's international digital expansion.

In creating this new role, Coty looks to be aiming to foster a new dynamic in order to accelerate the transformation of its luxury division's digital capacities. In the first quarter, the NYC-based company saw its sales drop come in below analysts' estimates, with revenues falling 9.2% to $2.03 billion.
