Charles de Montalivet will join the Japanese group as country general manager, overseeing the progress of its BareMinerals, Buxom, Nars, Laura Mercier, Serge Lutens and Shiseido brands in the region and leading the direction for the UK and Ireland team to deliver the corporate global strategy.

Shiseido is also the license holder for Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, Narciso Rodriguez and Elie Saab, and the group is preparing to launch its premium skincare brand Clé de Peau Beauté in the UK this autumn.

De Montalivet has a wealth of experience in the beauty industry, having worked at L'Oréal for 16 years. He was most recently general manager for Western Europe for L'Oréal Professionnel, Kerastase and Shu Uemura.

Prior to that, he delivered significant commercial growth and brand equity as general manager for Giorgio Armani and Designer Brands at a European level, and managed these brands (including Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Viktor&Rolf, Maison Margiela and Cacharel) in the UK and Ireland.

“Charles is bringing significant experience to our organisation; I am confident that his consumer-centric approach, his digital mindset, his heritage in trade environment and his operational excellence will be strong assets to delivering our ambitions in this market,” commented Alberto Noe, Shiseido chief business officer in the EMEA region.
