Brioni taps Brad Pitt as brand ambassador
Following James Bond, who has long embodied the elegance of Brioni in the past, the Italian brand has a new personality to represent it. As the brand continues with its revival, the menswear specialist announced that “the legendary actor and producer Brad Pitt has become our brand ambassador.”
“An icon of cinema and a symbol of elegance, Brad Pitt, who has brought to life some of the most memorable characters in film history, both embodies and reinforces Brioni's special connection to Hollywood," said the brand in a press release. Pitt has already endorsed the brand by wearing full Brioni suits to the Cannes Film Festival in May and the Venice Film Festival at the end of August.
This collaboration with Pitt “will mark the beginning of our 75th anniversary celebrations with a campaign which will be unveiled in January 2020,” said the brand. Notably, on January 7, Brioni will hold a special event in Florence for the first time in three years during the men’s fashion trade show Pitti Uomo. The event will be directed by Olivier Saillard and will showcase the brand’s autumn/ winter 2020/ 2021 collection, signed off by the brand’s executive design director Norbert Stumpfl.
Three years ago, deeply affected by the economic crisis and loosing momentum, Brioni embarked on a full-scale restructuring. After a great number of directors and designers coming and going at the brand in recent years, Brioni seems ready for its big return to the spotlight.
