Morton replaces departing CEO Tennealle O’Shannessy, who will leave the Melbourne-headquartered company on December 30.

Founders Kate Morris and James Height will assume co-CEO roles for the interim period following O’Shannessy’s departure and Morton's commencement.

A retail industry veteran, Morton joins Adore Beauty from Best Friends Pets and My Pet Warehouse, where she served as CEO. Prior to that, she served as general manager of pharmacy and beauty retailer, Priceline. She also held senior positions at outdoorwear brand Kathmandu and retail giant Spotlight Retail Group.

"Tamalin’s extensive industry experience will be instrumental in fast-tracking our growth, and delivering on our strategic initiatives to increase revenue, customers, and margins over the short and longer term," said Marina Go, Adore Beauty chair.

"She brings relevant category experience and a proven track record of driving growth within omnichannel, high-growth entrepreneurial businesses. Tamalin’s customer-centric approach and focus on team culture aligns with Adore Beauty’s values. The board is particularly excited by Tamalin’s ability to scale businesses quickly. Importantly, Tamalin’s marketing credentials will be invaluable as the industry continues to navigate higher customer acquisition costs.”

Launched in 2000, Adore Beauty claims to be Australia's first beauty-focused online retailer. Today, it boasts a diverse roster of some 270 international and local beauty brands and 12,000 products.

In October 2020, the company went public, listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.
