Aquazzura to venture into men’s footwear market

Designer Edgardo Osorio, co-founder and creative director of fashion firm Aquazzura, announced major changes during Bogota Fashion Week 2019. The event’s special guest unveiled plans to expand the brand’s product offering, create a men’s collection, and launch in Brazil within the next two years.

The label said the project will see the launch of a new line of accessories for women, as well as a special accessories and footwear collection for men over the next 18 to 24 months, Edgardo Osorio told La Republica.

Recently, the brand made its online debut with the launch of its own ecommerce store, which will join other fashion e-tailers including Net-A-Porter and Matchesfashion.com to provide the latest designs to online shoppers. Osorio is one of the world’s leading footwear designers and is long list of celebrity fans include Meghan Markle, Amal Clooney, Jennifer Lawrence and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few.

The designer has also announced plans to open a store in Sao Paulo, Brazil in the short term, marking his first bricks-and-mortar location in the country. Founded by Osorio eight years ago, Aquazzura has a presence in more than 300 stores in 58 countries worldwide, including several directly operated stores. Edgardo Osorio is one of Colombia’s top designers, workers from his studio in Florence, Italy.
