Alrosa picks JP Morgan, UBS, VTB for bond -source

MOSCOW June 24 (Reuters) - Russian diamond miner Alrosa has picked JP Morgan, UBS and VTB Capital to arrange a Eurobond issue of up to $1 billion, a trading source familair with company's plans told Reuters on Thursday.

Last September, the state-controlled miner said it was considering a Eurobond issue worth between $500 million and $1 billion in the second half of the year.

The Russian government has pledged $1 billion in state support for Alrosa in 2009, including state purchases of gems.
