In 2006, Danish fashion brand Wood Wood collaborated with German sportswear giant Adidas on the Adicolor project, which was Wood Wood's first major collaborative project.

A decade down the line, the two have teamed up again. Wood Wood worked with the Adidas Consortium team to reinvent the UltraBoost model, creating two takes on the silhouette.

"In preparation for this project we looked deeper into a major discovery in astrophysics made in 2014. That year, scientists announced what they believed to be in the indirect detection of gravitational waves in the afterglow of the Big Bang. As the last untested prediction of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity, finding gravitational waves proves quite a big deal..." says Wood Wood.

The resulting shoes feature an early depiction of this wave pattern, created with the Boost and Primeknit technologies. The UltraBoost shoes also have blue and orange color highlights, and for the women's version the lacing system has been swapped for an elastic mid panel, creating a futuristic slip-on style.

Wood Wood has a bit of a history of teaming up with sportswear brands. Last year it launched a capsule collection with Reebok, which was inspired by British youth subculture and combined Reebok branding with Wood Wood's graphics.

The Adidas Consortium Wood Wood UltraBoost shoes will pre-launch at W.W. stores and woodwood.com on February 20th.
