Westfield invests in Australian designers

Scentre Group, operator of Westfield shopping centres in Australia, will invest in showcasing a new trio of Australian designers in 2016. Alice McCall, Macgraw and Maticevski are the latest designer brands to secure sponsorship from the retail giant.

Westfield invests in Australian designers - Westfield Corp

Scentre Group premiered a series of short films this week designed to promote each of the three labels to the general public. Now, consumers will be able meet and greet the designers at select malls in Sydney and Melbourne.

Alice McCall is set to host a collection release at Westfield Sydney and Macgraw will showcase their product in InHabit at Westfield Doncaster, which is also the brand's first standalone retail space.

Meanwhile, Toni Maticevski will provide mentorship to emerging Australian designers.

"Not only does the partnership show our commitment to supporting the Australian fashion industry, it also creates a platform for us to share the talents of these designers with our customers,” said Scentre Group director of leasing, Peter Leslie.

Previous recipients of the Scentre Group sponsorship include Dion Lee, Ellery, Bec & Bridge, Ginger & Smart, Romance Was Born and We Are Handsome.
