Value Retail unveils new name, stresses Bicester link

Published

Value Retail, the operator of out-of-town discount villages, has changed its name to Bicester Village Shopping Collection, it revealed on Friday.

The new name brings together the company’s 11 outlet centres, including high-end shopping destinations in Europe and China, under one mission: to redefine the luxury shopping experience and offer value for money.

It also highlights its flagship outlet centre, Bicester Village, which opened in 1995 and has recently been revamped. With high-end services, like valet parking and personal shopping, and a focus on hospitality, the outlet centre has become a major shopping destination in the UK, attracting both British consumers and tourists.

The group also operates outlet villages in Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Brussels, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Shanghai and Suzhou, China.

The name change marks a new step as the company continues to develop each village, offering customers a range of services from luggage drop and overnight delivery to children’s play areas, as well as local gastronomic experiences.

The idea of a collection of outlet centres that share a message but are also unique is being reinforced in collaboration with florist Nikki Tibbles, who is creating dedicated botanical displays for each village. And the group is supporting emerging talent with a series of exhibition spaces and mentoring programmes. This year, it launched a 12-month mentoring initiative dedicated to support the next fashion, art and design generation.
