The Woolmark Prize announces its European nominees

The Woolmark Prize 2016-17 has selected 20 European talents for its international competition dedicated to emerging designers, out of a total of 75 nominees this year, from 62 countries. Ten women and ten men will represent Europe in this intercontinental contest, in representation of 11 different European countries.

The candidates for the women's ready-to-wear category are Tim Labenda (Germany), Roshi Porkar (Austria), Kimstumpf (Belgium), Nicholas Nybro (Denmark), Leandro Cano (Spain), Etienne Deroeux (France), Giuseppe di Morabito (Italy), Peet Dullaert (Holland), Cockerel (the Czech Republic) and Gülçin Çengel (Turkey).

The contest for men's ready-to-wear will be played out among Brachmann (Germany), Devon Halfnight LeFlufy (Belgium), Tonsure (Denmark), Matières Paris (France), Pablo Erroz (Spain), Luca Larenza (Italy), Mareunrol’s (Latvia), Evan Menswear (Holland), Mirka Horká (the Czech Republic) and Benan Bal (Turkey).

The European final will be held in Milan on 28th June. After this, the European finalists for each category will challenge their homologues from other continents.
