Ted Baker to transform and expand UK headquarters

Published

Plans to build new headquarters for Ted Baker and the fashion firm’s first branded hotel have been given the go-ahead this week.

The premium clothing brand is working with developer Reef Estates to transform a building in King’s Cross into a brand new mixed-use scheme, including new headquarters for Ted Baker, a gym and a hotel.

The building has been home to Ted Baker’s UK head office since 2001 and was partly bought by the brand in 2015. All of the brand’s UK operations are based there, and will have to move to a different venue while the site is being redeveloped.

Ted Baker is planning to expand the headquarters to provide double the amount of space for its expanding workforce, increasing its staff numbers from 500 to over 1,150 people.

The new headquarters will contain six floors of workspace for design, prototyping, showrooms and administration.

Additionally, the building will house the world’s first Ted Baker hotel, a 90-room hotel operated by the retailer taking cues from other fashion brands with links in the hotel business, including Versace, Bulgari, Dior and Ralph Lauren.

The project also proposes the creation of shops, cafés and restaurants, creating a leisure offer in the area adjacent to the new King’s Cross redevelopment in North London.
