Swiss textile innovation firm HeiQ, a specialist in sportswear fabrics, has launched a new hydro-functional polymer called HeiQ Adaptive AC-06.

The latest generation of tech sportswear fabric by the Swiss company, a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, was launched at the Performance Days trade show, held in Munich on 18th-19th April. Adaptive AC-06 is designed to regulate body temperature during sustained physical effort. Activated by sweating, the polymer operates from a temperature of 28°C, generating a cooling-down effect which reduces the wearer’s skin temperature by between 1.5°C and 2.5°C. In addition, the polymer is designed to convey moisture to the outside of the fabric, keeping the inner side dry.

HeiQ textile technology, including HeiQ Smart Temp, is currently used by about fifty brands and groups, among them HanesBrands, Patagonia, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Stance, Dickies, Prana and BekaertDeslee. Earlier in the year, HeiQ announced the launch of a new textile technology for body-odour control which is 100% bio, non-microbial and free from silver nano-particles.

HeiQ offers a range of specialist textile technologies, such as Smart Temp, Eco Dry (water-repellent), Fresh Tech (odour prevention), No Fuzz (anti-abrasion), Real Silk (silk effect), Sun Block (anti-UV), Bug Guard (anti-mosquito), Glide (anti-friction) and Clean Tech (ethically sourced and produced).
