Sustainably-made tall denim brand Midheaven Denim launches

Actor Josh Brolin's wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin, has launched new sustainable denim label Midheaven Denim, designed for tall women between 5'9" and 6'3". The line has already gained the attention of Cindy Crawford and Nicole Kidman.

Explaining the reasoning behind the brand in a recent Hollywood Reporter article, Brolin stated, "I wanted a line of basic styles that I love, that wouldn’t go out of style and that would give me that extra two to three inches of inseam I really needed."

Midheaven Denim offers inseams from 33 to 38 inches. Brolin said tall women were a historically underserved demographic in the apparel industry, something she learned from her time as a fit model.

Her launch collection consists of three styles based on a skinny silhouette and one flare. Four additional styles will roll out next month with the brand's official launch.

Aside from its celebrity image, Midheaven's point of differentiation is that it sources its cotton from Candiani Denim, a Milanese mill known for being extremely green. Candiani's denim is made from cotton produced in line with the guidelines of the Better Cotton Initiative and their daily operations focus on reducing waste, reusing materials and recycling as much as possible.

Midheaven imports the Candiani denim and manufactures its jeans in LA. Efforts have also been made to ensure that the materials used to package the products are responsibly sourced nad produced. Brolin said, "It was hard to find completely eco packaging but all the materials I found are 100 percent sustainable."

In the age of inclusive fashion, Midheaven Denim follows in the footsteps of other brands that have already targeted tall women. Mainstream denim brands such as Gap, Levi's and Madewell have all added talls to their size runs in recent years.

Midheaven's launch styles are available for pre-order now. They retail for $230.
