Selfridges has unveiled its second Shoe Galleries concept with a debut at its futuristic Birmingham Bullring store. The 15,000 sq ft space on level four officially launched at the weekend and hosted a series of events to celebrate, including bespoke personalisation and performances.

The opening comes several years after the luxury retailer unveiled the Shoe Galleries for the first time at its London flagship on Oxford Street.

The new Birmingham version follows its London sibling’s lead and stocks over 1,700 different styles from almost 50 international designers, including Valentino, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Magda Butrym, Coach, Mallet, Alberta Ferretti, Gina, Malone Souliers and Marco de Vincenzo. The aim is to mix high-end established brands with newer names and also to add newer ranges from well-known names.

Gucci, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin have their own designated areas within the space, complementing the upmarket offer also provided by luxe jeweller Tiffany & Co, which opened on level four late last year.

And exclusive to Selfridges Birmingham, the Jenny Packham x LK Bennett bridal collection will feature in Shoe Galleries, ready for the wedding season.

Bullring landlord Hammerson’s Commercial Director Iain Mitchell said the additional mix of global luxury brands “further elevates the Bullring to one of the largest retailers to stock high-end fashion and accessories outside of London.”

In the last 12 months, a string of luxury brands have opened at the centre, including Russell & Bromley and Coach, along with Tiffany & Co, as mentioned, and Louis Vuitton in Selfridges.
