The 'Poly-Lycra' handbag brand Save My Bag, created in Bergamo, Italy, in 2013, continues to expand at a quick pace and plans the opening of 20 mono-brand stores in China from 2016. Asia is the company's main market.

Save My Bag currently produces 6,500 handbags per week and will close 2015 with a revenue of €4.5 million, after generating €1.3 million in 2014.

"China, Japan and South Korea are our leading markets for sales; exports currently account for 70% of our total sales," Stefano Agazzi, the brand's founder together with his wife Valentina Agazzi, has explained to FashionMag.

"We will however still continue to open stores in Italy, starting with a retail outlet inside Milan Malpensa airport at the end of November. We're also negotiating for our first mono-brand store in Rome, in Via della Croce," the manager said.

The brand's products are 100% made in Italy, using only fabrics by the Carvico company. Save My Bag has also signed a deal with Bloomingdale's for distribution in the USA, with Saks for Dubai and Abu Dhabi and with Harvey Nichols for Hong Kong.

As the name suggests, the Save My Bag line originated from the idea of creating a handbag cover made from an innovative fabric (Italian Lycra and a low density foam) which is waterproof, washable, soft and elastic, and could act as a cover protecting handbags from shocks, rain etc. Save My Bag covers have quickly become a must-have, thanks also to their wide range of colours (currently there are 36, in 6 different prints), and their highly accessible retail price of €69. The first models designed for men are also about to be launched, both in plain colours and specifically created prints.
