Sarah Harris and Julia Sarr-Jamois get new British Vogue roles

Published
May 1, 2018

Sarah Harris has proved to be a survivor from the previous management team at British Vogue and having just returned from maternity leave has been promoted to the role of deputy editor with immediate effect.

She takes on the job at the same time as editor and street style star Julia Sarr-Jamois has been named the media brand's fashion editor-at-large. She also does major consultancy work for brands. Meanwhile London-based fashion editor Gianluca Longo becomes contributing style editor.

Harris, who is a street style favourite herself and is instantly recognisable for her long, silver hair, has managed to keep and enhance her role while other key members of the team under previous editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman have been forced to move on.

The most high-profile names among those who have departed are Lucinda Chambers and former deputy editor Emily Sheffield, who had at one point been tipped to take the top job.

Harris has been with the magazine since 2003 having first joined as fashion features editor. While reporting directly to editor-in-chief Edward Enninful in her new role, she will also continue to oversee all fashion features.
Enninful said she has a wealth of fashion journalism experience and key relationships within the industry.
