Première Vision Paris trade show to 1,678 exhibitors from 7th to 9th February

The six trade shows making up the Première Vision event in Paris will showcase 1,678 exhibitors, 101 of them new entries, from 7th to 9th February. The number is stable compared to last year, with 74% of exhibitors coming from outside France, in representation of 47 countries. About 55,000 visitors are expected.

This year's edition of the textiles and apparel shows will mark the launch of the Wearable Lab section, dedicated to new inventions and research linking fashion and technology. The Wearable Lab will showcase ten experimental works and the output of four fashion-tech start-ups.

Exhibitors will once again hail mostly from Italy, home to 625 textile-apparel companies on show, while 226 exhibitors will come from France. Among other heavily represented countries are Turkey (140 exhibitors), the UK (112), Spain (85), Japan (63), Portugal (56), South Korea (37), China (33) and Germany (32).

The PV Fabrics show will feature 771 exhibitors, of which 37 are new entries. Once again it will host the 'Maison d'Exceptions' section, comprising 27 labels from eight countries, each label distinctive for its rare expertise. PV Yarns, the yarns and fibres show, will present 42 manufacturers, with three new entries, while PV Design, the show dedicated to textile design and creativity, will bring together 215 companies, 26 of them new to the show.

PV Leather will showcase the output of 231 leather and fur specialists, and PV Accessories, the show for fashion accessories and components, will feature 290 exhibitors, ten of them for the first time. PV Manufacturing will feature 129 fashion manufacturers from Europe and the Mediterranean area, plus 23 specialists in creative flat knits within the Knitwear Solutions section.

As for seminars and conferences, the shows will offer a daily 'trend tasting' menu in three sections: Color, Fabrics and Season. A Leather Fashion Breakfast will be held each morning, targeted to decision-makers, buyers and designers. Among the other initiatives on offer, there will be workshops on leather expertise; the 'Fashiontech, scène d’avenir ou utopie?' (Fashiontech, future reality or utopia) conference at the Weareable Lab; a conference on the challenges of proximity sourcing organised by the Institut Français de la Mode (the French fashion institute); and a market assessment by the Moroccan association of textile and apparel producers.

The February 2016 edition of the Première Vision shows was not immune to the slump in visitors which has hit French trade shows since the spate of terrorist attacks in France, and recorded 55,025 visitors (-5.85%) for 1,725 exhibitors.
