The sportswear giant debuted its new Connected Jersey in Los Angeles in September with a collection of NBA gear and jerseys. The jersey features an embedded NFC chip that delivers to the wearer real-time content, including highlight packages and pregame arrival footage. The content is sent to the wearer’s smartphone via an app.

James is the first to curate a playlist for Connected Jersey wearers. The playlist titled ‘Unbreakable’ includes songs by The Notorious B.I.G., Drake, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Future, Migos, and SZA among others, and can be heard through Apple Music.

According to Nike Media Relations Director Josh Benedek, “additional athlete playlists will be available to Nike Connected jersey owners and Apple music subscribers.”

Nike in 2015 signed an eight-year deal to be the official uniform provider for the NBA, replacing Adidas, which ended an 11-year deal with the association. The partnership between the NBA and Nike began officially in September 2017.
