Munich Fabric Start brings together nearly 1,000 exhibitors

Published
Aug 27, 2015

Munich Fabric Start continues to develop at its own steady rhythm. While the proposed addition of Kesselhause to the usual exhibition space did not materialise, the Munich fabrics and accessories event is an unmissable date for German-speaking countries, and for those buyers who seek a more professional context, or who come here to gain time. The show will take place from 1st to 3rd September, anticipating Milano Unica in Milan, to be held from 8th to 10th September, and Première Vision in Paris, which will open to the public on September 15th.

Munich Fabric Start is appreciated for its professional environment.

Munich Fabric Start will soon hold its 39th edition, grouping together nearly 1,000 exhibitors, compared to 950 a year earlier. A total of 1,600 Autumn-Winter 2016-2017 collections will be showcased. The Blue Zone, active for the event's first two days only, will gather together 80 denim and sportswear specialists, compared to 75 a year earlier.

Among the newcomers to Munich's MOC and the Zenith Halle, the concert hall hosting the Blue Zone, there will be Cotonificio Albini, Bernini, Lanificio Morganti Brunetto, Stamperia di Martinengo, Alibi, Panoco, Pizval and Secondo Stefano Pavese as well as Prosperity Textile, Kuroki, Azgard Nine, Advance Denim and Intex.

The show hasn't made many changes to its set-up, and habitual visitors will feel at home within it. The only notable variation is that Asia Salon, grouping together 150 Asian manufacturers, is growing larger and will be located in both Atrium 3 and 2.

In terms of themes for the Autumn-Winter 2016-2017, Munich Fabric Start invites us to think about the 'ReFuture', imagining a combination of 1970s and Gothic style with visionary techniques. As for Denim, the leitmotif is 'Where Science Meets Magic'.

Without neglecting sustainable development. Through Organic Selection, the organisers feature a range of over 500 fabrics and 100 accessories certified as environmentally friendly. In addition, there's the Eco Village, representing ten organisations such as the Fair Wear Foundation, Textiles Vertrauen and Blue Sign. There visitors will be able to learn about issues concerning sustainable development, and the care for the environment upstream of the production chain.
