Sinclair, 69, was named non-executive director in October 2008 and became chairman of the company in April 2009.

McLintock, 56, has been an independent non-executive director of the retail group since 1 November 2017, and will take over as chairman on 11 April. He has a wealth of experience in the finance sector and has previously worked at several high-growth companies.

He also sits on the board of directors of Takeover Appeal, serves as special advisor to Neptune Investment Management and is a member of the Finance Committee of MCC, among others.

ABF also announced that Sinclair will continue to receive payment of fees for service up to the date of his leaving, but that no other remuneration payment or payment for loss of office will be made in connection with his departure.
