Mammut Sports Group appoints new CEO

Swiss outdoor brand Mammut has named Oliver Pabst as its new CEO, succeeding Rolf Schimd who stepped down from the role after over 15 years at the company to seek a new professional challenge.

Oliver Pabst, 50, will join the retailer and the Executive Committee on September 1, 2016.

Mammut, part of Conzzeta, is a Swiss producer of outdoor equipment and clothing. It has subsidiary firms in Germany, Norway, Japan, Korea, China and the US, and a worldwide sales network.

Oliver Pabst served most recently for nine years at Munich-based fashion brand Willy Bogner as Management Board member with responsibility for Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, he acted as Managing Director/Owner of action sports company Boards & More and served at his family’s own textile company, Gerhard Pabst.

According to a press release issued in May, the company’s previous CEO Rolf Schmid will continue to serve Conzzeta in a consultative capacity.
