Additions wedding dress compared on shop.com
As wedding season continues in full swing, 60 percent of survey respondents say they will attend up to three weddings in the next year. But, in a sign that consumers are staying committed to spending less, an overwhelming 79 percent vow they will spend no more than $100 on a wedding gift. Some 10 percent say they plan to spend less than $25. The findings are from the latest TwoSense™ Wedding Season survey by SHOP.COM, the comparison shopping site for women.

What's hitting wedding-goers' wallets most? After the wedding gift itself (47 percent), travel and accommodations to attend the nuptials (35 percent) and new attire (15 percent) are cited by most.

Of typical gifts such as cookware, champagne flutes and china, cold, hard cash is considered the ideal wedding present by half of those surveyed. But, only 25 percent report actually giving cash. Most (43 percent) say they rely on the bridal registry, and 10 percent of survey respondents admit to having re-gifted for a wedding.

Bridal Fashion
"In addition to a vast product selection at the best price, SHOP.COM offers brides expert advice on accessorizing, including finding the perfect wedding shoes to accentuate the gown and helping mum find her mother-of-the-bride dress," said Simona Supekar, Communications Manager for SHOP.COM.

The bride is deservingly the center of attention on the big day. What are guests checking out the most? Eighty percent pay close attention to the bride's wedding gown, while 15 percent notice her hair and makeup. After the bride, bridesmaids offer the most important look (55 percent) - - even over the groom (24 percent).

Finally, when asked which celebrity wedding they would most like to attend, 31 percent of respondents say they'd like to be invited to the upcoming nuptials of Katy Perry and Russell Brand.
