On the eve of the opening of the new Dior boutique inside the Japanese mall Ginza Six, the luxury maison is planning a series of events this April 19.

Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of womenswear at Dior, will take over the rooftop of the Tokyo mall with a haute couture spring/summer 2017 collection show. It will be a presentation featuring new silhouettes and styles made specifically for the event, according to the Paris house.

Kris Van Assche, head designer for Dior Homme, will unveil for the first time the brand's fall 2017 collection to VIPs on the evening, as well as a crowd of visitors who expected to attend, following an extensive marketing push by Ginza Six.

The shows mark the opening of the new Dior store in Tokyo, slated for April 20, in the centre of the Ginza Six mall -- also opening its doors for the first time on the same day. The centre houses more than 240 luxury and high end stores, including no less than ten brands from the French luxury giant LVMH; each finding a home in the most luxurious district of the Japanese capital.
