Poppe joined the company in 1999 where she had various roles, including in communications and management, succeeding Paul van Lammeren, who retired in May 2012.

Poppe said in a press release: “I experienced a lot during my time at C.A.S.T., received chances and took them. Because of this, I had the opportunity to work my way up within the company and reached the top of the ladder as director six years ago. But now it is time to explore a new field. I would like to thank everyone for the trust, the partnership and the opportunities in recent years and wish everyone well in the future.”

Richard Brekelmans, interim chairman and treasurer at C.A.S.T., added: “The board deeply regrets [Poppe’s] departure. The cooperation between the management and the board was always pleasant, professional and future-oriented. Lieke will be very missed.” The company said that the board is currently looking for a suitable replacement.

C.A.S.T. is a retail platform for footwear, bags, leather goods, travel products and accessories. C.A.S.T. operates as an indoor shopping center and has an area of 20,000 square metres. Operating from the Nieuwegein headquarters, agents, clothing importers, wholesalers, and representatives of domestic and foreign manufacturers present 600 brands via 160 showrooms.
