Retail giant Inditex isn’t immune to fashion’s negative trends, but the company is certainly doing better than many, saying Wednesday that net sales in the first nine months of the year were up 10% and profit was up 6%.
Springboard released its November footfall figures on Monday and they made less-than-encouraging reading as visitor traffic to stores rose marginally (by 0.2%) in a month when traffic should have picked up even more.
UK consumer spending has declined for the third month running, Visa said Monday, which wasn’t a surprise. But there was worse as it said 2017 is on track for “the worst consumer spending performance in five years.”
